Has anyone out there successfully deployed Accuterm GUI applications on portable handheld scanners? If so, what make, model, etc.? As far as I know, the portable device must be running full-blown windows (not mobile, not CE, etc.). Thanks in advance

We have not because all of our scanners use CE. We just run them as a terminal emulator and connect to mvBase through telnet.

Does that mean the applications you run on them are text-based and not Accuterm GUI?

I have used the motorola MC9090 scanners using Accuterm.

We connected to a windows server, through terminal services. Accuterm was installed on the windows server.

the added benefit of doing it this way, we got in-built redundancy. If the connection dropped out, when we reconnected our session was still active.

Yes, our scanner software is text based. It is all we feel we need for what we use our scanners for (receiving, shipping and inventory). When I'm in a big box store and I see a scanner lying around I usually pick it up to see what the software looks like. Believe it or not, it is usually text screens.
