Hello,  I am using a mixture of Accuterm and wIntegrate on our MvBase system, using WY-60 emulation on both.  When I type the sign in Accuterm, it appears in wIntegrate as ascii character 214 (2 vertical & 1 horizontal line).  When I reverse the process and type the sign in wIntegrate it appears in Accuterm as ascii character 163 (like an accented u).  Why is this and is there any way round it?

Hi Peter -

Wyse emulation (and ADDS VP, PC Monitor, SCO Console) use Code Page 437, the original IBM PC character set. In this character set, the POUND SIGN character is CHAR(156). When you press the key, AccuTerm translates this to the CP437 character code for the POUND SIGN, and sends CHAR(156) to the host. If the host does PRINT CHAR(156) to AccuTerm, it will show up on the screen as a POUND SIGN.

I do not know what character set Wintegrate is using, but CHAR(163) is the POUND SIGN in Code Page 1252, Windows US & Western Europe character set. AccuTerm uses this code page in the various ANSI emulations (VT100, VT220, etc.). So, in VT220 emulation, the key would send CHAR(163) to the host, and PRINT CHAR(163) would display a POUND SIGN on the terminal screen.
