Topic: Question about pastingPosted: July 17 2017 at 8:43am |

Hello hello,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question or not. If it's not i apologize. Anyway, where I work we often have to paste in large amounts of data from Excel into AccuTerm. Anywhere from 5000-40000 lines at a time. Depending on what we're pasting in, we can do anywhere from 1200 to 2000 lines at a time. After that, we have to reconnect. Is there any way around that?

Hi Moragtao -
What kind of host platform are you using with AccuTerm? I know that some versions of AIX have problems with receiving large amounts of data without losing some of it. Otherwise there should be no limit on how much you can paste, as long as the program receiving the data is capable of receiving the amount you send. It is possible that some programs like line editors may have a maximum limit to the number of lines. Thanks, Pete |

Rookie question I know... but how do I find out which host platform we're using? I'm relatively new here and, as such, new to Accuterm.

Hi Moragtao -
Sorry - I have no way to tell. You need to ask your IT department, or whomever manages the server you use AccuTerm to connect to. Thanks, Pete |
