Just installed version 7 and getting this message - oddly the same install on a different PC runs the program without any problem.

Anyone know where to look to see what's wrong?

Hi Acmedia -

It sounds like you should install the debugging version of AT7 and see whats going wrong when trying to run ObjectBridge. After installing the debugging version, open you AccuTerm session, and just before starting the program that uses ObjectBridge, start the AccuTerm 7 Debug Log program and select atcomm70 from the program list. Click the atcomm70 tab and select error, telnet and detail options (select ssh instead of telnet if using ssh). Click OK. Start the ObjectBridge program. Check the log - you can email it to support at asent dot com and I'll take a look.

Thanks,

Pete

Annoyingly once the debug version was installed (over the top of the problem version) everything worked fine.

I'll try downloading the standard version again and seeing whether I'd got something corrupted.

OK, found the problem - and it looks like it's the documentation that's at fault.

Following the example in the "Customizing the Installation Process" section of the user manual I created a custom atwin70.ini file, and that's what was used during the installation - but there's nothing in the documentation about the AutoServer section. And it turns out that's the cause of all my problems.

Installing the software without any custom files uses the full/default version of this ini file, so for most people the problem won't have happened.

Hi Acmedia -

Could you email the custom atwin70.ini file that you were using to "support at asent dot com"? I'd like to see what you have in that file that is causing the [AutoServer] section to get lost. The installer should copy your custom file to the program directory, then explicitly add a new [AutoServer] section with the correct items. I tried to reproduce the problem but was not successful.

Thanks,

Pete
