Topic: Connection to Cisco ASA1510Posted: August 23 2010 at 2:11am |

Hi I'm trying to connect to a Cisco ASA1510 using Accuterm 2K2 ssh port 22. I'm getting the error:
"No supported signature scheme exists (SSH)"
I am able to connect using Putty. Is there a setting in Accuterm that will allow this connection?
Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim -
According to a Cisco FAQ: Q. Does Cisco IOSŪ SSH version 2 support Digital Signature Standard (DSS)? A. Cisco IOS SSH version 2 (derived from OpenSSH code) does not support DSS. However, according to the SSH specification in RFC 4253, DSS signature is required to be supported: The following public key and/or certificate formats are currently defined: ssh-dss REQUIRED sign Raw DSS Key AccuTerm only supports the DSS signature scheme for DSS keys, which works with most SSH servers since this is a required scheme. If your device supports RSA keys, maybe you can use them instead of DSS keys, as the RSA key signature uses SHA-1 hash. Thanks, Pete |
