Topic: Locking the settingsPosted: May 24 2010 at 8:54am |

Can I lock the settings of any/all instances of Accuterm2K2? My client has users who change screen colors (a problem for their application software) and also enable screen printing (a HIPAA violation). I know how to disable printing in the TOOLS->Settings->Printer tab. But how can I make it so no user can change that setting once I set it?

You can use the Customize Menu tool (in the Tools menu) to remove items that you would like to block from the main menu, toolbar and popup menu. Be sure to run AccuTerm as an admin so you can create an "application" level custom menu. Once you have the menu the way you want you need to store it on each user's PC in the c:\program files\atwin folder. The file is 'menu.ini'. If you want to install your custom menu file when new users install AccuTerm, check Appendix E of the Programmers Guide, Customizing the Installation Process.
