    Posted: November 13 2007 at 2:15am
Hi,
I have a grid, 14 columns, column 9 is a check box.  Based on this box, I would like columns 11 thru 14 to be either active or non active.  Is it possible and how can it be done.  I looked at gprequired but it doesn't seem to work or I've set it up wrong.  Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

You can set the GPREADONLY propery on a single column of a grid. Set the read only property of columns 11-14 to false when you don't want them to be maintainable and true otherwise.

CALL ATGUISETPROP(APP,FORM,CTRL,GPREADONLY,COL,"",1,ERRORS,STATE)
1 = READONLY
0 = NOT READ ONLY

Thanks for the quick response, however that does not work. Here is what I tried:

CTRL = "GRDDETAIL" ; VALUE = 1 ; COL = 1 ; ROW = 1
CALL ATGUISETPROP(GUIAPP,GUIFRM,CTRL,GPREADONLY,COL,"",1,GUIERRORS,GUISTATE)

It does not allow col 1 row 1 to be edited.

GRDDETAIL is not editable. I would just like to make the entire grid editable programatically.

Thanks!

If you want the entire grid to be editable, try setting the grid's enabled property:
CALL ATGUISETPROP(APP,FRM,CTRL,GPENABLE,"","",1,ERRORS,STATE)

Ok, all that does is remove all the rows but one and place a "1" in col 1 row 1. I still cannot edit the form.

Here is my command:

CTRL = "GRDDETAIL" ; VALUE = 1
CALL ATGUISETPROP GUIAPP,GUIFRM,CTRL,GPENABLE,"","",VALUE,GUIERRORS,GUISTATE)

Thanks!

I know - I tried that too with the same results. I tried GPVISIBLE and it works... I am at my wits end.

I got it working. First I change the grid in the template to "EDITABLE". Then I "GPENABLED" = 0 (Disabled) it at the beginning of the program. Then I was able to ENABLE or DISABLE the grid at will.
Thanks for your help!
