Topic: File Transfer ErrorPosted: August 03 2007 at 2:49am |
|
Hi,
I have a problem whit the file transfer throug Accuterm, using FTS. When I call the FTS, the subroutine returns the status like "FTS/FTX requires AccuTerm to run", or "Destination file protected!", and the files aren't transfered.
Most strange is thath some times the transfer it's ok, others not.
Somebody knows the reason of this?
Tanks, Andre Tuzi

Hi Andre -
If you get a "destination file protected" error, AccuTerm was unable to write to the file or folder. If you are running Windows Vista, note that you cannot update files in the root directory of the C drive. This is not allowed by Vista. Thanks, Pete |

Hi Pete, Thanks for the answer.
I'm running Windows XP, not Vista.
But, the status "FTS/FTX requires AccuTerm to run" it's more comon. It's rarely occur the status "destination file protected".
And, like I said, has moments that transfer it's ok, but most of the time, gives wrong, and the file isn't transferred.
Thanks, Pete.
André.

Hi Andre -
What host platform are you running? What version of the AccuTerm host programs do you have installed? You can check the version by ED FTBP FTVERSN and look for the version number. Thanks, Pete |

Hi Andre -
The newest version of the AccuTerm host programs have some improvement in the "is this AccuTerm?" test. I suggest you download and install the latest version. You can download from pickbp.exe. Look at the readme.txt file in the c:\program files\atwin\pickbp folder for updated installation instructions. Thanks, Pete |

Hi Andre -
What platform are you running D3 on? If you are running D3 on Windows, is AccuTerm running on the same PC? Thanks, Pete |

Hi Andre -
At this point I think it might be a good idea to install the debugging version of AccuTerm and log the telnet session communications to see exactly what's going on. Please fill out a support request here and I will send you instructions on downloading, installing and running the debugging version to monitor the communications between the host and AccuTerm. Thanks, Pete |

Mr Schellenbach
Are there any news on this topic? Since we update XP Service-Pack 3, FTD don't work properly We use OpenQM at localhost we like to write C:\CD\index.html run FTD manually work properly (typing on TCL) but as soon we run a basic program from GUI it fail => we get an error "FTD requires AccuTerm to run" Thanks, Thomas |

Hi Thomas -
I'm not sure what the problem is, but I just tested FTD from QM to localhost on XP with SP3 and had no problem. Usually the error you are getting is caused by a timing problem. FTD sends an escape sequence that causes AccuTerm to send its information back, and FTD uses a timed-input statement to look for the response. The timeout for QM is 3 seconds, which should be ample time when waiting for a response from localhost. Thanks, Pete |

Mr Schellenback
We get the problem now, it wasn't SP3. Below an overview to add to the topic. our System: OpenQM on a single Laptop with multicore processor (DB work at localhost) To do: Our basic program include some VB-Script subroutines and at the end it run a FTD to export a file from OpenQM to our Hard-Disc. Problem: The VB subroutine are still working (we copy some AVI-files) when the basic program call FTD so AccuTerm return "This version of AccuTerm does not support file transfers" or "FTD requires AccuTerm to run!" We get this problem just on a system with multicore processor. A sleep between VB-Subroutine and FTD or run FTD before VB-Subroutine help in this case. Thanks for your help Thomas |

Hi Thomas -
Is your VB script being executed from QM using AccuTerm's ESC STX "P" command? If so, you can sychronize the QM program and the script by adding an INPUT statement after the script command on the QM side, and adding InitSession.Output vbCR at the end of your script. This will cause the QM program to suspend while waiting for the INPUT to be satisifed, which will occur when the script completes. Thanks, Pete |
