Topic: autorecover not workingPosted: April 20 2017 at 4:37pm |

while working in WED, a forced Windows updates rebooted my PC overnight. I have a "NewItem1 (new)*" document open with unsaved changes. but Autosave should have done a save every five minutes. I verified autosave is selected.
But there is no document to recover. Lost about 8 hours of work (yes, bad on me... I was late for a baseballgame to watch Ichiro!). The document didnt get autosaved. is this a know issue, or is it because WED did not officially "Crash" thanks Mike

In case it helps, the directory where wED saves the auto-recover files is:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Asent\Wed\AutoRecover I don't know why the auto-save did not work in your case, but you might look in that directory to see if there is anything left that might be useful. |

thanks Pete. I do find the new 'named' rebuilding of the program there I am working on to replace the missing item. Maybe the previous doc was never saved the first time (new) so it didnt start saving it every five minutes. Oh, Well, almost have it rebuilt. made the weird analog step of actually writing all the data poiints on a pad of paper while I was in the middle of a bout of the flu... love it when a plan comes together.
