Topic: wED open file dialogue and F-PointersPosted: October 15 2013 at 5:59am |

Hello, long-time AccuTerm user, first-time poster.
It seems my boss is finally convinced to expand our usage of the wED editor to all our servers, but I've run into an issue that I hadn't noticed before. (jbase 5, not using accounts) When opening a file in wED with the open file dialogue, it pre-loads a list of all sorts of interesting items from what looks like the MD and other places. In that list, if I double-click on a jBase file, it opens that file and gives me the list of items in that file. However, if I double-click on an F-Pointer that's listed in the MD, it does not expand that list. If I manually type the F-Pointer's name into the "File name:" box and hit Enter, I get an mvConnect error: "Item abc.src cannt be accessed (may be locked by another user or process), Skipping!" (Incidentally, typing gibberish into the File name box returns the same error) But! Using abc.src and then typing the name of the item I want to edit into the "Item ID:" box works just fine. wED reads the F-Pointer and opens the right file. So is it supposed to be possible to navigate into an F-Pointer'd directory through the file dialogue window? Have we set something up wrong? wED seems to understand the F-Pointer for abc.src when I'm specific about what file to open, but I can't pointy-clicky-navigate to it or get it to list the directory. |
