Hello everyone, I have been working with a wireless network at a small business. I had to reset the router and add a WEP key this weekend, at this point the host not found error comes up when we try to log onto a connection that already existed. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem. I beleive that the computer logs onto a win 98 computer and then connects to the connection. I have just started to look at this problem and do not have all of the details yet, i will tomorrow. but does anyone have any ideas. should i redo the connection or did the security change the settings some how? any advice is a great help

Hi -
The "Host Not Found" error indicates that AccuTerm is attempting to resolve the host name into an IP address and the resolution failed. This is typically done using DNS and the DNS server did not find the host name. It can also be done using a local HOSTS file on the PC, where the IP address and host names for known hosts are listed. I don't recall where Win98 stores the HOSTS file, but in Windows 2000 and XP its in \Windows\System32\drivers\etc\. Thanks, Pete |
