Topic: Picture control scaling under high-ppi Windows 10.Posted: February 23 2017 at 5:32pm |

We've run into some GUI scaling issues on Windows 10 and high-PPI Surface Pros. I'm aware this is a side effect of how Windows 10 is handling magnification.
We did a partial workaround for this by not using pixels as the unit of measurement in the final cut of our GUI screens, although I have noticed a couple of places where improvement might be possible: 1) Images in the icon portion of buttons appear narrower if the icon size is "small"; this does not happen if the icon size is set to large, or if an image is used in the button Picture instead of Icon: In this upload, the left image is a jpg as icon, the second is an .ico as icon, and the third is the jpg as Picture. uploads/1563/buttons.tif 2) The Picture Control appears to size differently than other controls, even when empty. In this upload, the left and right margin around the picture control should be the same. If the picture control were a frame control, it would appear with the correct placement. uploads/1563/PhotoFrame.tif |
