Hi, we have some vpn users (dsl, nat router) using Accuterm2k telnet. The vpn is set to disconnect after 2 hours of idle time. But these users' telnet session is locking up after approx 20 min. They have enable "Send Keepalives" but no difference. Is there anything else I can try to simulate activity?
Thanks |

Hi -
It is very difficult to track down the source of session disconnects over the net (even on a local net it is not easy). AccuTerm's keepalive interval is 2 minutes, so the fact that you are having a problem even when using keepalives might indicate some other network problem. If you wanted to create a test environment that continuously sends network traffic, you could write a small script that uses ActiveSession.Output " ... " in a loop with a Pause 2 (or some other delay) statement to delay a few seconds between transmissions. Then connect to the host, run a test program that just accepts input and discards it in, and run the script. See if you still have a problem with the connection. Thanks, Pete |
