Anyone who has an active support agreement can request changes to D3 for fixes or enhancements. The more requests they get for a specific change the higher up it goes on the priority ladder, though there is never a guarantee for changes, nor a commitment from them to get a change into a near-term release.
On behalf of my friends (former co-workers) at TigerLogic I'd say this specific request should carry significant weight if Pete makes the request ... no "me too's" should be required to increase priority. Unfortunately many good ideas for changes to D3 have never been implemented simply because people prefer to gripe in forums rather than making a formal request. So whenever you have an idea about another change that you believe is worthy, e-mail support, request an "action item", and make your vote count! HTH |

Hi All -
I just installed a fresh copy of D3/NT 7.5.2 and checked out the behavior of AccuTerm's keepalives and all seems to be fine with this release. I don't know what release RD may have fixed this but at least for 7.5.2 it looks like keepalives do not cause any problems. If anyone is running an earlier relase of D3/NT, you might try running the following test program and report your findings here.
Before running the above program, in AccuTerm, enable the Keepalive option in the Connection settings, Advanced. Save your AccuTerm session file, close & reopen the session. Then from TCL, do XCS-ON and CONTROL-CHARS ON. Then run the test program. Wait 10 minutes. Press ENTER. The result should be "0". Next check your event log in Windows to be sure that no application error events were logged as a result of the keepalives (there was a version of the D3/NT telnet server that logged each keepalive message as an error and after a few days, the event log would chew up gobs of space!). Thanks, Pete |

Hi Tony -
From my testing today I would say that your "little friend" should not appear again when running D3/NT 7.5.2 or later. It turns out that the accent-o character that you were seeing is CHAR(242), which is the byte value of the telnet "data mark" command. Thanks, Pete |
