On the VT220 emulation is the status line on the top or bottom? What are the escape sequences used to display and clear the status line? My default vt220 terminfo entry does not have a status line defined. To have a bottom status line, would another vt emulation be a better choice?

Hi Randrx -
VT220 indeed supports a status line at the bottom of the screen. ESC [ 2 $ ~ displays the status line, ESC [ 1 $ } moves cursor to the status line so that you can update it, ESC [ 0 $ } moves cursor back to screen. When the cursor is in the status line, you can use CR to move the cursor to the first column of the status line, and you can use visual attributes to highlight fields in the status line. Thanks, Pete |
