Topic: Is there a FORM template?Posted: May 17 2006 at 12:09pm |

There's some fuction keys that all our applications repond to, and it makes sense to have these as menu events. So when writing a new application they're something to have to remember to add.
Is there a way of creating a template, so that when a new form is created it automatically has a menu, or any other controls, included? |

Hi -
There is no way to create a form template - you can create custom code templates, but not forms. One thing you could do is create a GUI project that you intend to use as a template, then when you start a new project, open both the new project and the template project, and use copy/paste to copy the form from the template project to the new project. Just rename the form after pasting into the new project. Thanks, Pete |

That's pretty similar to the method currently in use - there's a version created and changed to be read only, which gets loaded in, then straight-away "saved as" under the proper name.
