Topic: Uninstalling problemPosted: April 26 2005 at 11:36am |

I need to uninstall the Internet Designer version - but I can't find any way of doing it.
The Windows uninstaller complains that there's no INSTALL.LOG, and there's nothing in the directory I installed the designer in which gives any clue what should be done. I've tried reinstalling in case something was missed earlier but that doesn't change anything. |

Hi -
Use Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel to uninstall AccuTerm Internet Edition Designer. If there is no uninstall information, then the program has probably already been uninstalled, but the entry in Add/Remove Programs is still there. Sometimes Windows XP will give you the option to remove the entry when this happens. Thanks, Pete |

That's not it Pete - the program is still installed and can be run without problem.
Yesterday I installed it on three machines which had never had any AccuSoft/Asent software on them, running XP Prof, XP Home, and 2000 - in each case when I then tried to uninstall it there was a message about not being able to open INSTALL.LOG As we've only just purchased the Internet Edition I'll submit this to your support side. |

Hi -
There should be an INSTALL.LOG file in the ...\Program Files\Atwin folder. See if you can open it with notepad. Maybe you do not have permission to access that file anymore. Also, there should be an application, UNWISE.EXE, in that folder. You can initiate the uninstall process by double-clicking on the UNWISE.EXE file name in Windows Explorer. Thanks, Pete |

It looks like the release of sp2 for 5.2b has discovered and solved this problem.
