Topic: Macro Cache errorPosted: November 21 2012 at 9:46pm |

Hi, I don't know if anyone can help, I currently use Accuterm2k2 in order to have a GUI fron end to an legacy WYSE60 application.
ove the past month or so I have repeatedly got the following error appearing. Errors received from GUI Runtime 1 1]11]]]5009]Error accessing macro cache (command=RunMacro) Nothing has chenged on the installation for the past 18 months, the only thing I can think of is that there has been a windows update that could have affected the product?? Our developers have checked and it looks to be the result of an error on Accuterm. Has anyone seen this before or could offer any advice? thanks in advance. David McLaughlin |

Hi David -
AccuTerm 2K2 uses a directory called tmpcache to store cached macros. This directory is a sub-directory under the main AccuTerm program directory (c:\program files\atwin). Beginning with Windows Vista, this directory is not normally writable, hence the error. Under Vista (& Win 7 / 8) Windows creates a "shadow" directory under the user's profile and redirects read/write to the shadow directory. My guess is that the redirection is no longer working correctly. You might want to consider upgrading to AccuTerm 7. Under 7, the tmpcache directory is in the user's profile so it will always be writable. Thanks, Pete |

Thanks Pete
I'll have a word with the developers this end. I think we may have some issues with the screen formatting on AccuTerm 7. Let me see how I get on. Regards Dave |
