    Posted: July 07 2009 at 9:16am

Our network administrator installed AccuTerm 2K2 on a Windows Server 2003 machine for remote access and it runs fine as an administrator but any users who are not adminstrators gives errors:

Procedure:        PosFormGet (atmain.bas)

Error:   339

Description:      Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependencies
not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
Is there a special method to install on a Win Server 2K3 machine?

We ran filemon to capture the error and it shows the error when trying to OPEN the COMDLG32.OCX file but it is under C:\Documents and Settings\<admin user>\WINDOWS and if the user is not a local admin, it generates the error above.

Thanks.

Hi Caleb -

When you install AccuTerm on a server machine, you should use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and select the option to install for All Users. Be sure to install from a local admin user. This will correctly update the registry so that all users have permission to access the component OCXs & DLLs.

Thanks,

Pete
