Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there was a way in accuterm 2000 so that I could have the printer be set to on all the time.

Also I have been encountering that when the printer is set to on and the user exits out of accuterm, there is a bunch of gobbly goop sent to the default printer.

If anyone could help me with these issues, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Nelson

Hi Nelson -

When the printer is set to "on", AccuTerm passes all received data to the printer and displays it on the screen. This is often not a good solution because the printer and screen uses different control commands and one (usually the printer) prints garbage when it encounters commands for the screen.

You could create a small script that opens your session and sets the printer state to "on" if that is your intention. This would be easier with AccuTerm 2K2 - you could just record a macro, then when you open AccuTerm you would launch the macro. The macro would open the session and set the printer to "on". It could even do an automatic login.

Even if you use a macro or script to set the printer to "on", if AccuTerm receives the command to turn it off, it will honor that command and turn the printer "off".

Thanks,

Pete
