Is there a version of AccuTerm that will run on a Pocket PC or Windows CE?

There is no version of AccuTerm that will run on Windows CE or Pocket PC. But, there is a way to cheat!
The PocketPC comes with a "terminal services client", which is like a "desktop PC" window displayed on the Pocket PC screen. The desktop comes from a Windows 2000/2003 server running Terminal Services. You can install AccuTerm on the server, and run the terminal services client on the handheld. When a handheld user logs into the server, it displays that user's desktop on the handheld. The user can then run any program on the server, including AccuTerm. You can create a shortcut to an AccuTerm script in the startup directory for the handheld user on the server. The script sets the size of the AccuTerm window to full screen and loads the session file. The toolbar, statusbar and session bars are all disabled to maximize useful screen content. The script could then log in to the host and the logon PROC on the host can run your handheld-modified application. In my own tests, I tweaked the .atcf session file to run nicely on the handheld by setting the screen size to 40 columns by 19 rows. The modified host application was set up to use 40 columns by 15 rows. The extra 4 rows was enough room for the keyboard to be displayed on the handheld without overlaying application data. |

Following up the previous post, if you do not want to use Windows Terminal Server, there is an alternative: WinConnect Server XP. This product runs on Windows XP Pro, and supports up to 21 thin client connections. See http://www.thinsoftinc.com/products_winconserver_info.html for details.
