We are currently using Acctuerm 5.2b.  I've noticed drawing issues on a couple of our users systems.  On one system, the accuterm session simply stopped refreshing the screen.  To the user, it appeared that our system had frozen.  I was able to tandem to the point and interact with the D3 session.  The user could not see anything I was typing.  I could see the usesr typing random keystrokes from my tandemed session, but the user was not seeing any response in their accuterm session.

In a somewhat similar vein, I've watch a users accuterm session take ten seconds to repaint the entire green session on a modern Dell system.  Usually, the session repaint takes about second.  Both users are in the same building, on the same network as I am ( I don't experience these problems on my PC, same Dell system as the other two users).  All run Windows XP, service pack 2.  Standard telnet sessions on port 23 to an IBM RS/6000 running Aix 5.2.  D3 7.4.2.

Any suggestions for finding the problem?

Hi Rep1 -

Try downloading and installing the debugging version of 2K2 (http://www.asent.com/downloads.html).

When you notice the problem, use Windows Explorer to find the asdebuglog.exe program (in the c:\program files\atwin folder) and double-click to launch it. In the general options, select atcomm32. Then click the atcomm32 tab and select the errors, telnet, and detail options. When the session appears to hang, watch the log window as you type. You should see messages going to the host for any keystrokes, and see the keystroke echo returned from the host. If you do not see the echo, it would appear that either D3 or AIX is not sending anything to the PC. If you do see the echo in the log, but not on the screen, then something within AccuTerm is not displaying the received data.

You can also use the log to monitor the data flow on the system that runs slowly, and see if its a problem with refreshing the screen or that the data just arrives slowly from the host.

Thanks,

Pete
