Hi Pete,

Firstly, there are 64 elements in the colors() array in the settings object of AccuTerm, and  AccuTerm lets us define 48 attribute combinations in the Attribute colors settings box. However, you only define 26 of those elements in the documentation. How do we find the attribute combinations that relate to the "undefined" elements.

Secondly, the Wyse attribute table defines 32 attribute combinations for use with Visual Styles. Is there any way to send the Visual Styles associated with the other 32 elements in the colors() array? Or even for the other 16 elements that are defined within the AccuTerm settings?

Thanks,

Brian

Hi Brian -

Some combinations of attributes don't make sense, but there is still a place for them in the Colors() array. Specifically, there are no combinations in the UI for both dim & bright. Thats why there are 64 elements in the array but only 48 in the UI. The documentation for the Colors property also excludes most of the combinations which include the blank (invisible) attribute. In the documentation for the Colors property, if you take the index for blank (1), blink (2), reverse (4), underline (8), dim (16) and bright (32), you can combine those 6 values to form any combination. For example bright+reverse+blank would be 32+4+1=37.

Wyse & ADDS only support 32 attributes. There is no support for the bright attribute. Generally, VT emulations support bright but not dim, but there were a few VT100 clones that included support for dim so its technically available in these emulations.

Hope that helps explain whats going on.

Thanks,

Pete

Thanks, Pete.

I was trying to create a set of styles that included variations for emphasis as well as style "alternates" so that fields could be used in a contiguous fashion yet still be recognised as separate fields. That meant I needed "lots" of combinations - and I'd used most of the available codes. Hence, I was looking for some way to access the other combinations.

I've since gone back to using a basic set of styles (including some alternates for field separation), and creating variations by applying different colours to the basic style. That seems to be working well so far.

Cheers,

Brian
